Preface

We have great pleasure in presenting Primary Scholarship Examination (PSE) Book I (English and Mathematics) based on New syllabus for the standard IV.

This book has been prepared with objectives in mind to equip the students with sound and perfect knowledge of the subject and to prepare them to face the challanges of the competitive examinations in future. To achieve these objectives, we have taken the atmost care. We have written this book keeping in mind ‘The Student’

As per the new pattern of the Primary Scholarship Examination (PSE), there will be two separate question papers of 150 marks each. Duration of each paper is one and a half hour (90 minutes).

Paper I: English Language (50 marks) + Mathematics (100 marks)-150

Paper II: Marathi (50 marks) + Intelligence Test (100 marks) = 150

All questions will be of objective type, having Four alternatives. Read them carefully and select the correct answer. Shade the correct answer in the answersheet.

e.g. If the correct alternatives for Q. No. 5 is 3, then record your answer as follows:

Q.5:

Any of the answer marked as follows will be considered invalid and will get zero marks.

Answer once marked cannot be changed or rewritten. Answers marked in more than one circle will not be considered.

e.g.-

O This is also incorrect mark.

While recording the correct option in the answer sheet use only Black or Blue ball-pen.

Do not use Pencil or Jel-Pen to record the answer.

This book contains various type of objective questions with their solutions by short cut methods.

I hope this book will create a confidence among the students. It will help them like an ideal teacher and to secure very good marks to get merit in the Primary Scholarship Examination.
