POST INDEPENDENCE INDIA FOR CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION
Since 2013, Post Independence India has emerged as a significant part of the UPSC and state PSCs exam syllabus. Even though the subject is mentioned only as part of the main exam syllabus, examiners have not hesitated to ask questions from the area in all stages of the exam whether preliminary, main or interview. In fact, we can safely say that one may expect more and more questions from post-independence India in the coming years. Despite this, candidates have been found struggling for an exam-centric resource book on the subject. Owing to this shortcoming, many students are left with no option but to rely on coaching notes or selective reading of bulky research or historical books.
Hence, this book has been developed as an exam-aid, with all qualities of a standard test-prep material. Special attention has been paid to the requirements of new aspirants and content has been built from scratch without making any assumptions regarding previous knowledge. To guide the readers throughout the book, pedagogical tools such as bolding, highlighting and illustrations have been liberally used. Analysis and special notes on important events have been provided, keeping in view the increasing tendency to ask concept-based questions.
This revised Second Edition also includes details on important topics such as Integration of Tribals in the Post-Independence Era and various Popular Movements that arose during the 1970s.
As authors, we are reasonably confident that this book will prove to be a ‘single point solution’ for Post-Independence India needs of the candidates and will play a key role in their success in UPSC and other State Service Exams.
